What Does a Three Days Weekend Look Like?
Three Days Ottawa is a Christian renewal retreat held over three days called Weekends. There are two Weekends per year, one for men and one for women, that usually take place in late May/early June. The men’s Weekend is held first.
A Three Days Weekend begins on Thursday evening and ends late Sunday afternoon, which is approximately 72 hours (or Three Days).
People who attend a Weekend for the first time are called Candidates. To become a Candidate, people must be invited by someone who has already attended a Three Days Weekend or a similar three-day retreat such as Tres Dias, Cursillo or Walk to Emmaus. We believe that God lays the names of people on the hearts of community members to invite to a Weekend. This is one of the most unique parts of Three Days that we feel reflects the Grace of Jesus Christ. You can’t earn or purchase a spot at the Weekend. It is given to you through the sacrifice of another without any cost to you personally other than your time.
Each Weekend is hosted by a group of Believers who have already attended a Three Days Weekend or similar three-day retreat. Called the Weekend Team, they include men and women from many different Christian traditions, locations and cultural backgrounds. The Teams are made-up of two groups: (1) The Laity – an ancient term that lovingly represents the non-pastoral members of the team who lead hospitality, prayer, worship, fellowship and all the logistical aspects of a Weekend; and (2) Spiritual Directors – the pastoral members of the team who are responsible for the spiritual leadership of a Weekend. We believe that the Weekend Team, like the church, is a single body made up of many different but equally important parts.
The Teams work hard to prepare the table so Candidates can walk the Three Day journey in a safe environment that is free from distraction. It is in such an environment where people can explore some of life’s greatest questions: Who am I? How am I doing? What do I believe? Who is Jesus? How can I follow Jesus in a fallen world?
While there are no expectations on what a Candidate may experience, it is our greatest desire that the Three Days Weekend brings people closer to Jesus Christ. More of Jesus is the solution to all of life’s problems.

We Believe:
The Holy Scriptures, as originally given by God, are divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and constitute the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh; we affirm his virgin birth, sinless humanity, divine miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, ongoing mediatorial work, and personal return in power and glory.
The salvation of lost and sinful humanity is possible only through the merits of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, received by faith apart from works, and is characterized by regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit enables believers to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Church, the body of Christ, consists of all true believers. Ultimately God will judge the living and the dead, those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, those who are lost unto the resurrection of eternal death.
